Engineer's Log
Wisconsin Broadcasters Clinic 2016

Tuesday-Wednesday, October 11-12, 2016:   Mark attended the annual Broadcasters Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin.
Over 200 broadcast engineers attended this year.

Many good presentations including one from friend Jeremy Ruck on propagation.

Cliff Groth ran sound as usual.  He does a nice job.

Mark had a chance to swap stories with long-time friend Steve Brown from WHBY Radio in Appleton, Wisconsin.

There was an ongoing PowerPoint presentation with photos of engineers from their youth including the one on the right showing Mark in his shop back in 1964.

A fun session in the evening was humor about engineers.  Nicely done.

Kirk Harnack was there from the Telos Alliance showing equipment and interviewing attendees.
See a video of that interview at: https://youtu.be/bbIhC6SaxcE
Kirk and Mark have been friends for many years.  You might have seen Mark interviewed by Kirk on TWiRT(This Week in Radio Tech.)

It is amazing the interesting people that Mark and Paula ran into at the conference.
(l-r) Ron Paley from DJB Radio  and Andrew Mulrooney of Comlab and Davicom.
Both are from Canada and right friendly blokes.  Yes, they are salesmen, but great fun to have conversation with.

Much of the continued success of the Broadcasters Clinic goes to Linda Baun (at the podium) being applauded.
Linda is Vice President of Administration in the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association

The stories go on and on.  Stop in again sometime.  I'll leave the soldering iron on for you.
