Engineer's Log of Mark W. Persons
Clifford Groth

Thursday, July 17, 2014:

Clif Groth from Watertown, Wisconsin, stopped in to see the repair shop and to talk about radio broadcasting.

He picked up a copy of Where Have All The Broadcasters Gone? by my father Charlie, which I autographed for him.

Clif is now semi-retired from broadcast engineering and a happy guy.

He once told the story about spending as little money as possible at a station he worked for.  Clif was very proud of that and assumed the owner understood how fragile he was with station money.  That is until it was announced that budgets for all station departments were being cut by 20%.  Clif was devastated...there was no place to cut money!  He solved the problem by quitting.

A deer showed up later in the day and could be easily seen from our office.

This is a common sight year round in our location on the north edge of Brainerd.

The stories go on and on.  Stop in again sometime.  I'll leave the soldering iron on for you.
