Engineer's Log of Mark W. Persons
Randy Wabik Stopped By

Monday, August 26, 2013:  Randy Wabik, chief engineer for WEBC Radio in Duluth, Minnesota, showed up at the door.  He wanted some high voltage mica capacitors tested and this was the place to do it.  Randy especially liked the 1940's style ribbon microphone on display in the front lobby.  I frequently do FCC required annual occupied bandwidth and RF harmonic measurements at WEBC.   The interesting part is that my father Charlie built WEBC in the 1920's and was employed there until 1954 when he moved our family to Ely, Minnesota, where we built and ran WELY Radio.  Vintage photos of WEBC from the 1930's.  It is a small world.  Mark

The stories go on and on.  Stop in again sometime.  I'll leave the soldering iron on for you.
