Engineer's Log of Mark W. Persons
Broadcasters' Clinic at Madison, Wisconsin

Tuesday through Thursday, October 9-11, 2012:   Mark attended the annual Wisconsin Broadcasters' Clinic for broadcast engineers at Madison, Wisconsin.

This was a gathering of about 250 radio people.

Technical sessions were held to help engineers understand new technologies.

Even old friend and Consulting Engineer Jeremy Ruck was there to give a talk.
Broadcast Engineer Clif Groth did sound mixing for the sessions.

He does everything.

Long time friend Steve Brown was there from WHBY Radio in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Mike Murrey from WJMC in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and Technical Consultant Del Dayton were seen smiling for the camera too.
It was a pleasure to see Paul McLane, Editor of Radio WorldMark writes for this magazine/newspaper on a regular basis.
There was even a very interesting talk about the warm sound of vinyl phonograph records and tube electronics.

A growing number of people are learning to appreciate the vintage sound.

A BIG thank-you to Linda Baun from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for putting this conference on.

Her tireless efforts kept the programs interesting and on time

Quote of the day: Always fun to go to this gathering.  Mark

The stories go on and on.  Stop in again sometime.  I'll leave the soldering iron on for you.
