Engineer's Log of Mark W. Persons |

|
| Vietnam
veterans were honored in a full day of activities at the Minnesota State
Capitol in St. Paul. The theme was Honor - Respect - Remember. See:
http://mnhonorsvietnamvets.org One of those veterans
attending was Mark Persons, a
U.S. Army Vietnam (1968-69) veteran and
writer of this article. |
|

The POW-MIA (Prisoner of War - Missing in Action) organization http://freedomflight.org was there with a hot-air balloon team. |

There I am, on the left, trying to run the camera while the pilot and two other Vietnam veterans smile. |
![]() |
The big moment came when WCCO Radio and Television personality Don Shelby posed for a photo with me. Don was an Armed Forces Radio and Television announcer in Vietnam during the conflict. |

There I
am, sitting in a
UH-1
Huey Helicopter again after forty years. Seems like old times
from long...long ago and far...far away. Thanks to Brainerd VFW Post 1647 for providing bus transportation to and from the event for Brainerd area veterans. More details at: http://gilbertlodge.com/2009/6-13-09-vietnam-vets.html |
The stories go on and on. Stop in
again sometime. I'll leave the soldering iron on for you.
