Jerry Collins has been in Radio Broadcasting since college in the 1960's. He is definitely a "died in the wool" broadcaster. We met him in 1977 at WKKQ, now WTBX/WNMT Radio in Hibbing, MN. Jerry had us build a 100 KW FM station for him and rebuild his AM from a 5000 watts daytimer on 1060 KHz to a 10 KW day, 1000 watt night 5-tower facility on 650 KHz. This powerhouse reaches all of northern Minnesota and well into Canada.
We also built a 10 KW 3-tower station on 1200 KHz AM for him in Cape Coral/Fort Meyers, Florida and a 10 KW 4-tower 540 KHz station for him in Salinas/Monterey, California. Both are full-time stations.
Jerry and his wife Cathy are currently helping clients develop radio properties from their headquarters on the west coast, where the weather is warmer.
