The owners...Rod Grams and Chris Grams at the front desk below the famous KLTF neon
sign. That sign was outside the original KLTF AM
transmitter building starting in the early 1950's.
The station moved to downtown Little Falls for many years where KFML Radio
was added. Then to a new studio facility was
built with the help of M. W. Persons and Associates
in the
late summer and early fall of 2000. That building is at 16405 Haven Road
on the north side of Little Falls, MN.
WYRQ Radio was added as well.
This is the same location as
the original KLTF transmitter site.

Here is your
intrepid engineer, Mark Persons, rigging the 63 foot STL tower at the
studios in preparation for the studio move in the fall
of 2000.
Little Falls is the boyhood home of famed aviator Charles Lindberg who was the first to cross the Atlantic Ocean in an airplane. The year was 1927. |

Al Windsperger, a regular at the station for over 10 years, is seen here in the WYRQ 92.1 MHz FM studio where great country music is heard emanating from. |

Ron Specker is the morning announcer at KLTF, 960KHz AM. Locally produced Party Line program has been on the air for 40 years at 10 AM Monday through Friday. Interesting guests and great recipes make it the town's most listened to program. Also, hear broadcasts of local and national talk programming 24 hours per day on this station. |

Sometimes Corey Fink sits in at the KLTF control console during Party Line. On the left are past part station owner Steve Vanslooten and Donna Hilmerson. Donna still reads cooking recipes on the air. Great stuff! |

The WYRQ production studio with a huge multi-channel mixing board. For those who love to make audio happen, it doesn't get any better than this. Cole Hjermstad is seen at the controls, but has since moved on. |

The equipment racks that are built into a wall in front of the engineering room. Rack rails are cleverly mounted for the the equipment in a hallway.. This is a wonderful arrangement that allows instant access to the equipment to determine broadcast status and troubleshoot problems. The certificates above the racks are from the Alternative Inspection Program run by the Minnesota Broadcasters' Association. With a clean bill of health, it is unlikely the stations will be visited by an official FCC inspector. |

Here is your intrepid radio broadcast engineer Mark Persons in the engineering room behind the equipment racks where all the wiring is. A good place to find him whenever he is at the station. |

August 9, 2010: A new
Broadcast Electronics AM5E 5000 Watt AM Transmitter was installed at
KLTF Radio by M. W. Persons. The happy new owner is Station
Manager Rod Grams standing next to the new baby. Mark Persons told
him, "Congratulations, it's a boy!" Upon which, Rod passed out
cigars. The saga of radio broadcast continues. As Mark says, "I am often out working at one of America's great radio stations." |
