Here is the WCMP/WXCX studio building, as seen on a beautifully sunny day in July 2008.  It is located just west of Pine City, MN, on State Highway 70.  In the background are the WCMP-AM tower and a shorter STL tower to send audio to the WCMP-FM and WXCX FM transmitter sites.  

 

 You will almost always find Operations Manager Mike Hughes inside a studio looking after the programming.  Mike has been working at the radio station since 1981.  Ownership has changed a number of times, but Mike is still there.

 Your intrepid engineer Mark Persons posed at the AM transmitter site for a photo op.  From bottom to top in the blue equipment rack are blank panels, a Broadcast Electronics AM-1A Transmitter, Sine Systems remote control, CRL audio processing, and a modulation monitor.  The large transmitter on the left is a Collins 820D-1, which is the back up and is rarely used.  Both are 1000 watt AM transmitters.
