  RF Filter for Audio Circuits

Built by M. W. Persons and Associates, Inc.

Made in Minnesota

Here is a convenient filter to remove AM and/or FM RF interference from a stereo audio cable.  There are five 100 uhy RF chokes and four .005 mfd disc capacitors forming L-C low-pass circuits for audio.  The center conductor with RF choke does not have a capacitor, because it is the ground conductor.

The circuit is 1-inch by 2-inches and is designed to mount, probably in a wiring area, near an audio console in a radio studio.  There is a sheet-metal screw, with 1/4-inch hex-head, to hold it down to a wood surface.  Compression screw terminals at each end make it easy to connect and disconnect audio wires.

A
bottom view showing a nylon washer that holds the #6 sheet-metal screw and spacer that allows the filter to be screwed down without warping the circuit card.  Normally that screw is 3/4-inch in length.

An end view shows the terminal strip that is easy to use.  That same terminal strip is used on both ends of the device.

We build these RF Filters for $32 each plus shipping.
