Here is a convenient
filter to remove AM and/or FM RF interference from a stereo audio cable.
There are five 100 uhy RF chokes and four .005 mfd disc capacitors
forming L-C low-pass circuits for audio. The center conductor with
RF choke does not have a capacitor, because it is the ground conductor. The circuit is 1-inch by 2-inches and is designed to mount, probably in a wiring area, near an audio console in a radio studio. There is a sheet-metal screw, with 1/4-inch hex-head, to hold it down to a wood surface. Compression screw terminals at each end make it easy to connect and disconnect audio wires. |

A bottom view showing a nylon washer that holds the #6 sheet-metal screw and spacer that allows the filter to be screwed down without warping the circuit card. Normally that screw is 3/4-inch in length. |

An end
view shows the terminal strip that is easy to use. That same
terminal strip is used on both ends of the device.
We build these RF Filters for $32 each plus shipping. |
